Assigning Work to Judges

Create work assignments that tell each judge exactly what to evaluate at your faire.

Navigate to JudgingAssign Work in the sidebar. You’ll see your judges organized by category.

Click Add Assignment. Give it a title that describes what the judge will do — something like “Evaluate Biology Projects, Table 1-5” or “Score Presentations, Room 204.”

Fill in the description with specifics about the assignment. Use the notes field for anything the judge should keep in mind — timing, special instructions, room locations.

Pick judges from the list or type to search by name. You can assign one judge or several to the same assignment.

Select multiple judges using the checkboxes, then click Assign Work. Pick an existing assignment or create a new one. All selected judges get the same assignment.

The Assign Work page shows each assignment’s status. You can see which judges have work and which still need assignments. Use this view to spot gaps before faire day.

  • A judge can have multiple work assignments. This is normal if someone is covering more than one area.
  • Editing an assignment updates it for every judge attached to it. You don’t need to update each judge separately.
  • Judges see their assignments when they log into the judge portal. Make sure your titles and descriptions are clear enough to follow without extra explanation.
  • You can remove a judge from an assignment without deleting the assignment itself.
