Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- You need Admin or Owner role
- Required permission:
judges:assign - You should have judges added and categories set up
1. Go to the Assign Judges page
Section titled “1. Go to the Assign Judges page”Navigate to Judging → Assign Judges in the sidebar. You’ll see your categories listed with any judges already assigned to each one.
2. View unassigned judges
Section titled “2. View unassigned judges”Check the Unassigned section at the top. These are judges who haven’t been placed in a category yet. This is your to-do list.
3. Assign a judge to a category
Section titled “3. Assign a judge to a category”Drag a judge into a category, or click the judge and pick a category from the dropdown. The judge moves into that group immediately.
4. Bulk-assign judges
Section titled “4. Bulk-assign judges”Select multiple judges using the checkboxes. Click Assign to Category and pick the target category. All selected judges move at once.
5. Reassign a judge
Section titled “5. Reassign a judge”Already-assigned judges can be moved. Click on a judge within a category and choose a different one from the dropdown. Or drag them to a new group.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- A judge belongs to one category at a time. Moving them to a new category removes them from the old one.
- The category a judge was given during import or application is a preference, not a hard assignment. You still need to assign them here.
- Judges don’t see their assignment until you create work for them. See Assigning Work to Judges.
- Use flags to mark judges before assigning — it helps when you’re sorting a large pool. For example, flag returning judges and prioritize placing them first.
