Reviewing Judge Applications
Section titled “Reviewing Judge Applications”Approve or reject judges who applied through your public application form.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- You need Admin or Owner role
- Required permission:
judges:approve - You should have judge applications enabled and have received at least one submission
1. Open the Applications tab
Section titled “1. Open the Applications tab”Navigate to Judging → Add Judges in the sidebar. Click the Applications tab. Pending applications show up here with a count badge.
2. Review an application
Section titled “2. Review an application”Click on an application to see the details the applicant submitted — name, email, category preference, and anything else your form collects.
3. Add notes (optional)
Section titled “3. Add notes (optional)”Type into the Notes field if you want to record why you’re approving or rejecting someone. These notes are internal — the applicant never sees them.
4. Approve or reject
Section titled “4. Approve or reject”Click Approve to add the person as a judge in your faire. Click Reject to decline them. Either way, the application moves from the Pending list to the Reviewed tab.
5. Check reviewed applications
Section titled “5. Check reviewed applications”Switch to the Reviewed tab to see everything you’ve already acted on. Each entry shows who reviewed it and when.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Approving an application creates a judge record with all the details the applicant provided. You can edit that record afterward like any other judge.
- Rejected applicants aren’t notified. If you want to tell them, you’ll need to reach out separately.
- You can’t undo a rejection from the UI, but you can always add the person manually through Adding Judges.
