Using Judge Flags
Section titled “Using Judge Flags”Create color-coded flags and attach them to judges for quick identification and filtering.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- You need Admin or Owner role
- Required permission:
judges:manage - You should have judges added to your faire
1. Open the Assign Judges page
Section titled “1. Open the Assign Judges page”Navigate to Judging → Assign Judges in the sidebar.
2. Create a flag
Section titled “2. Create a flag”Click Manage Flags. Then click Add Flag. Give it a name, pick a color, and choose an icon. Hit Save.
Some flags that work well:
- “Conflict of Interest” (red) — judges who can’t evaluate certain entries
- “Returning Judge” (blue) — people who’ve judged before and know the drill
- “Needs Accommodation” (yellow) — accessibility or scheduling needs
- “VIP” (purple) — sponsors, board members, distinguished guests
3. Assign a flag to a judge
Section titled “3. Assign a flag to a judge”Find the judge in your list. Click the flag icon next to their name and pick from your available flags. A judge can carry multiple flags.
4. Filter judges by flag
Section titled “4. Filter judges by flag”Use the Flag filter at the top of the judges list. Select one or more flags to narrow the view. This is useful when you’re assigning groups and want to see, say, only returning judges or only those with conflicts.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Flags are visible to organizers only. Judges don’t see them.
- Removing a flag from a judge doesn’t delete the flag itself. You can reuse flags across as many judges as you need.
- Flags carry over when you export your judges list or print group sheets.
- You can edit or delete a flag anytime from Manage Flags. Deleting a flag removes it from all judges it was attached to.
