1. Open the Community tab
Section titled “1. Open the Community tab”Go to Automation > Workflows and click the Community tab. You’ll see a list of templates shared by other organizers and the Faire Portal team.
2. Browse templates
Section titled “2. Browse templates”Templates cover common tasks:
- Judge assignment workflows
- Email notification chains
- Application processing
- Score compilation and export
Each template shows a description of what it does and what triggers it uses.
3. Import a template
Section titled “3. Import a template”Find one that fits your needs and click Import. The template gets added to your workflows as a draft. Nothing runs until you publish it.
4. Customize the workflow
Section titled “4. Customize the workflow”Open the imported workflow in the visual builder. You’ll likely need to:
- Point triggers at your specific forms
- Update email templates with your faire’s details
- Adjust conditions to match your categories or divisions
The template gives you the structure. You fill in the specifics.
5. Publish
Section titled “5. Publish”Click Publish when you’re done customizing. The workflow is now live.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Importing a template creates a copy. You won’t affect the original template, and updates to the template won’t change your copy.
- Templates are a starting point. Delete nodes you don’t need, add new ones, or rewire the logic entirely.
- If a template doesn’t quite fit, it’s still faster to modify one than to build from scratch.
